10 Minutes Before Worship
- From the Acolyte Closet (Vestibule) put on a black robe.
- Cross below the Sancturary (through the Fellowship Hall) to the Narthex.
- Select a candle lighter from the Narthex Closet (check the wick).
- Ask a Greeter or other adult to assist you with lighting the candle lighter.
- Reverently approach the alter.
- At the Kneeling Rail, reverence the alter to honor God.
- Light the Alter Candles in the following order: 1) Christ Candle 2) Lower Right Alter 3) Lower Left Alter 4) Upper Right Alter 5) Upper Left Alter.
- After the last candle is lit, extinguish the candle lighter.
- At the Kneeling Rail, reverence the alter to honor God.
- Return the candle lighter to the Narthex Closet.
- Cross below the Sanctuary (through the Fellowship Hall) to the Vestibule.
- From the Acolyte Closet (back hall) put a white smock over your black robe.
- Enter the Sanctuary and close the door behind you.
- Take a seat of honor at the alter.
During Worship
- Lead other worshippers by your example.
- Offering: Hand the offering places (bags) to the Pastor, and after the offering, take the offering plates from the Pastor.

Communion:
- The Lead Acolyte will assist the Pastor with serving the bread.
- The Assisting Acolyte will assist with serving the wine.
End of Service:
- At the beginning of the closing hymn, walk calmly to the Narthex for a candle lighter. Take your time.
- With the unlit candle lighter, reverently approach the alter.
- At the Kneeling Rail, reverence the alter to honor God.
- Extinguish the Alter Candles in the following order: 1) Upper Left Alter 2) Upper Right Alter 3)Lower Left Alter 4) Lower Right Alter.
- Light the candle lighter with flame from the Christ Candle.
- Extinguish the Christ Candle.
- Wait for the Pastor to give the benediction (following the closing hymn).
- With the Pastor, reverence the alter to honor God.
- With the flame from the Christ Candle, lead the Pastor to the Narthex.
After Worship:
- Extinguish and return the candle lighter to the Narthex Closet.
- Neatly hang your robe and smock in the Acolyte Closet (back hallway).
